Thank you for visiting my website. I
originally set up this site to give back to others and help them build
their own speakers because so many people have helped me over the years.
I thought it was time to give back more of my time. I have many
resources to help you with your box calculations, crossovers, and
general speaker information throughout my website. Read more about
"why" I got into my speaker hobby interest in the first place near the
bottom of this page.
I'm now proud to announce that I am a
distributor for the fine Audience A3 drivers and some of their other
products.
*NEW
PRODUCT ALERT* Audience has released its new A3
revolutionary full range 3" driver with XBL2 technology for state of the
art sound out of a small driver. Applications include a line array
design up to 24 drivers with no crossover necessary. They can be
used for a very high quality midrange and other uses as well. They
have a flat response throughout the audio spectrum from 40hz to 22Khz.
22Khz to -20 at 20Hz with very high power handling and dynamic range. This is such
an amazingly well designed loudspeaker driver that there are 3 patents pending on its design!
Other fine Audience drivers should be available around August 1st.
They will be the 5", 6", & 8" woofers with the XBL2 technology.

I have photos of my newly built pair of A3 Audience
4 driver loudspeakers.
After several hours of burn in time with pink noise, I listened to some Santana
and Fleetwood Mac. The details are so fine! I have them wired with
the fine Auric interconnect wire. These are simply awesome!
Click on the A3 photo or the Audience A3 drivers link to the left for
more information and see the four driver pair that I've completed!

I have good used Bang and Olufsen Redline 60 drivers
and tweeters for sale for $65.00 ea. plus shipping. Click on the photo
to see my Bang and Olufsen ABR modification page and my testing
information for these driver along with more pictures.

Have you ever walked into a home theater
showroom and listened to their speakers only to be disappointed with
their sound or pricing? I shopped a lot of retail outlets to
replace my vintage Kenwoods with some much better speakers. The
regular brick & mortar retail outlets didn't have the sound quality I
wanted with their speakers, and the high end stores had speakers that
cost as much as a new car, but their sound wasn't as good as what I
expected for the price I was asked to fork over.
That's when I
decided that I could build my own if I worked hard at it. I bought
several books, spent hundreds and hundreds of hours on the internet, studied about many drivers and reports about
many of them and how
they were used in other's DIY projects along with their results. I also spent a lot of time
in the audio forums asking hundreds of questions. It has been very
costly to build mine because I've rebuilt them so many times until I got
the results I wanted. I have invested in crossover design
software which has been a great tool. My passion became my speaker
hobby.
I encourage everyone who has the minimum
required skills to build your own. This hobby requires
patience and diligence, and a lot of it. To finally achieve a great
sounding system makes it worthwhile even though it's taken several years
for me to complete all of mine. This is a hobby that you don't
have to shell out a ton of money all at once. You make your
purchases as you progress with your projects. It's like cutting
out the expenses of going to a ball game or going out for couple of meals
in a nice restaurant. Those dollars can go towards something you can and will
enjoy every day!
DIY speaker building is very
rewarding when you have your completed project in your home stereo or
theater.
Visit my Photobucket and Yahoo websites to
see some of my speaker hobby build work. All of my speakers and crossovers have
gone through several re-builds over the years to achieve the results
that I'm finally happy with.
I set up this website to help others build
their own DIY speaker hobby projects. I'll be
glad to answer any questions you may have or point you the right
direction if I can't help. A good friend of mine has a phrase we
live by: "We're all in this together".
